Student Life
The University may help in renting affordable shared apartments in the City of Alameda. Alameda is a safe community located on an island south of downtown Oakland. The rent for a shared apartment starts from $850 monthly per person. These apartments are not owned by the University; however, are maintained and furnished by it. The monthly rent includes utilities, high-speed internet, and renter’s insurance. The apartment complex offers controlled access, a pool, fitness center, laundry facilities, and is located near a bus stop with a short commuting distance to Lincoln University.
Alternatively, students may choose to utilize housing websites and independent rental agencies to find apartments, share with other students, or live with relatives or friends.

Off- Campus Housing
Living with a family, not in a dorm
Homestay means living in a private home with an American host family during your studies. Instead of a dormitory or apartment, you become part of a household. You will share meals, daily life, and a genuine human connection.
Your host family provides a private furnished bedroom, meals, and a supportive home environment. In return, you get something no dorm can offer. You will gain real daily practice in English, an inside look at American culture, and a family that actually looks out for you.
